Children are invited to decorate a hard boiled egg and bring it to school for judging on Thursday 1st April. Prizes will be given out on Friday 2nd April. The children will also be able to see the eggs brought by children in other classes.

Big Bounce Day

On Friday 26th March we will be holding a big bounce event on behalf of the cystic fibrosis trust. Cystic fibrosis is one of the UK's most common life threatening inherited disease. Money raised will help finance research and clinical support. During the day the children will be bouncing on pogo sticks, space hoppers and boucy castles. We hope that the children will collect a few sponsers or bring a small contribution. The mayor elect, Coucillor Ray Miller will be attending the event and spending time in school. I apologise for having two sponsered events in the same half term but felt that this was a very worthy cause. If you would be happy for your child to go on the boucy castle please complete the disclaimer below and return it to school. Parents are welcome to come along and join in the day. If you would be prepared to help in any way please contact Mrs Rayner, Mr Barber or Mrs Heritage.

Head Lice

Head lice are a constant problem in schools and can be really difficult to get rid of. On Wednesday 3rd March Julie Dawle (school nurse) will be spending the day in school talking to the children. She will be available to parents in the infant hall from 2.45 - 3.15 p.m. You are welcome to see Julie for information or advice.

Parking

There are still concerns about where and how some parents are parking their cars. The school car parks are for staff and the parents of disabled children only. Please park away from the school site and not on the pavement on Wellgate or George Street. Please, Please put our children's safety before your own convenience.

Friends of Wellgate

We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who has helped at past events as over £6,000 has now been raised.
We were sorry to hear that several long standing committee members feel that they will no longer be able to devote as much time to our fundraising in the future. We would like to thank them for all the work they did to raise this great amount.
The money has enabled us to buy new staging, curtains for the large hall have been ordered and we intend to buy some stage lighting and begin to improve the nursery garden.
The next meeting of Friends of Wellgate is on Wednesday 3rd March at 3.30 p.m. to plan for the Easter events. A letter will be sent out nearer the time for parents who are willing to help but can't attend meetings. Your support and any new ideas are always welcome. Thankyou.
