Word Smart
Small groups worked together creating stories to make books. We looked at writing patterns and
words. Some people did word jigsaws and Phonics. We had a puppet play and circle time and small group
story time with parents.
Thursday 26th June
Number Smart
We enjoyed playing a selection of number games and number jigsaws. We learnt number rhymes
and played number hopscotch and dominoes outside. We used a number program on the computer
and measured sand and water aswell as looking at a counting book.
Friday 27th June
Music Smart
We played the musical instruments then played "Name that Tune". We learnt about sounds and rhythms and
took part in singing and dancing.

We participated in sport - playing football and basketball, we did balancing,
jumping and general outdoor activities. We did construction indoors and outdoors. We also
played in the sand with the building set.

We went on a nature trail round the nursery and science garden. We were digging for worms
and learning about wild animals and insects. We were learning about water creatures and
shells and pets eg. looking at rabbits, parrots and hamsters. We then created a nature picture.

We painted pictures and learned how to mix paint. We did some drawing, cutting and sticking.
The computer was used to create pictures using the 2draw program and patterns were designed in
clay to make plaques. Chalk and water pictures were created outside on the floor.
