Super Learning Day

On June 25th 2003 Wellgate held a super learning day. "What is a super learning day"? A successful learning day enpowers students to take control of their own learning both inside and outside school and gives teachers the opportunity to explore brain based approaches to learning.
Taken from University of the First Age. Materials on brain based learning.
All the children and staff took part after answering a questionaire to sort them into the 8 multiple intelligences.
They were: Nature Smart, Number Smart, Word Smart, Picture Smart, People Smart, Self Smart, Music Smart, and Body Smart.
We have recently been visited by Mr Haiti, a Nambibian headteacher, so we all studied Namibia and South Africa in different ways.

Nature Smart looked at different environments of Africa.
Number Smart looked at pattern and investigation.
Word Smart looked at poems about Africa and African fruits.
Picture Smart looked at a variety of artistic techniques based on a Namibian theme.
People Smart looked at tribes and working together as part of a team.
Self Smart looked at Powerpoint and posters about Namibia.
Music Smart looked at the music of Africa and funky junk.
Body Smart looked at exercise and warming up before an African football tournament.

We all had a very good day and would like to show you some of our work.
